Leander has a passion for storytelling. This show clearly in staged roles, or in oratoria: in these parts, his acting skills are an undeniable value added. As an actor and a singer, Leander has a rather eclectic repertoire, and has performed a wide range of roles in both opera and operette. He has also appeared in diverse concert works by Mozart (e.g. his Requiem), Telemann, Monteverdi (e.g. Vespro della Beata Vergine ) and Bach, and has been able to nurture his love for baroque into his renditions of the Evangelists in Bach’s Johannes- and Matthäuspassions as wel as in his Weihnachtsoratorium. 

 
His solo recitals are drenched in originality and his silken voice is something you have not heard before. 
 

In addition, Leander has joined vocal ensembles Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Ex Tempore (Florian Heyerick), BachPlus (Bart Naessens), Ghent Singers (Jolien De Gendt) and Swara Vocal Ensemble (Ivan Yohan) for diverse programs in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland and Tunisia. As a freelancer, he regularily joins the Vlaams Radiokoor.   

Leander is one of the founding members of the baroque ensembles Favola, Les Goûts-Authentiques (Jan Devlieger), and Le Vecchie Musiche (Nicholas Cornia), all based in Belgium. The most recent concert of Le Vecchie Musiche is Heliopolis. 

After receiving his master's degree in English Linguistics and Literature in 2013, Leander enrolled in the Royal conservatory in Ghent for classical singing with French bass-baritone Marcos Pujol. In addition, he was taking classes with the Belgian tenor Ludwig Van Gijsegem, the Dutch tenor Marel Reijans and the Belgian soprano Diane Verdoodt.
