About

After organizing the first-ever classical music rave, Brendan Jan Walsh discovered a profound fascination with DJing. The ability to merge existing musical compositions into a fresh, unified piece—a dynamic sound collage designed to inspire movement and energy on the dance floor—revealed itself as a unique artistic expression. This experience marked the beginning of an exploration into the possibilities of combining genres that might traditionally seem worlds apart.

He first learned the essentials of DJing from a close friend, with whom he formed a DJ duo. Together, they challenged the perception of classical music as incompatible with dance culture, proving that with a bold and open mindset, it was indeed possible to dance to classical compositions. Encouraged by their success, he broadened his music production skills to bridge the often unpredictable tempos and free structure of classical music with the steady, driving rhythms characteristic of electronic dance music, carefully balancing the two to create a seamless yet innovative fusion.

Armed with a strong background in musicology and a deep appreciation for art history, he developed a vision for the ideal DJ set: a performance that is not only historically informed but also a bridge between past and present, classical and modern, delivered within an energetic, celebratory atmosphere. His performances often include live elements as well; he sometimes brings his cello or collaborates with other instrumentalists, adding layers of live sound that enrich and enliven his sets.

This approach transforms his DJ sets into immersive experiences, inviting audiences to experience the beauty of classical music within the vibrant context of a modern dance setting.
